The Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is a 10-digit unique identification number issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) to any Indian business or individual intending to engage in import or export of goods and services. IEC registration is a mandatory requirement for clearing goods through Indian Customs.

- Proprietorship Firm
- Partnership Firm
- Limited Liability Partnership (LLP)
- Private Limited / Public Limited Company
- Trust or Society
- Hindu Undivided Family (HUF)
- Valid DGFT Portal Login Credentials
- Permanent Account Number (PAN) of the firm or entity
- Active Bank Account in the name of the business
- Registered Business Address
- Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) or Aadhaar-linked verification
These details are verified against records with the Income Tax Department.
- Visit the DGFT Website
Navigate to https://www.dgft.gov.in > Services > IEC Profile Management - Register/Login
Register with your mobile/email and PAN, validate with OTP, and then log in. - Apply for IEC
Select “Apply for IEC” and fill out Form ANF 2A with:- Firm Name & PAN
- GSTIN (if applicable)
- Business Address
- Bank Details
- Digitally Sign Application
Use DSC or Aadhaar e-Sign to complete the submission. - Pay Application Fee
Make a secure online payment of the prescribed fee. - Download IEC Certificate
Upon verification, download the IEC certificate from the DGFT dashboard.
- Proof of Business Establishment
- For LLP, Company, Society, HUF, Trust – submit Incorporation/Registration Certificate
- Proof of Address (any one of the following):
- Sale/Rent/Lease Deed
- Electricity, Landline, or Mobile Bill
- Aadhar/Passport/Voter ID (for proprietorship only)
- Partnership Deed or MoU
🔹 Note: If the address proof is not in the firm's name, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the property owner must be submitted.
